Frank had to have a rear leg amputated due to a break that was not able to be repaired. He runs and jumps and plays and wrestles as if he's always been a tripod doggo! His amputation has not slowed him down one bit! He is currently living with one of our best fosters, learning to trust humans and how to live in a house! He is reserved and will need a home who is willing to give him time to learn to trust and become comfortable. His foster reports that he knows his name and has great recall off leash.
Frank came to us with a group of siblings---all of whom are out on foster and we are receiving glowing reports from all of them! Frank is crate-trained and sleeps in his crate overnight. He is almost completely house trained. He's already walking well on a leash. He is going to be a dog's dog---needing another dog in his home to bond with as he will tolerate human touch but does not seek it out or seem to enjoy it yet. At this point, he will only eat when the foster's dog is nearby and also eating.
Frank has not displayed any aggression toward humans; he just seems uncomfortable with pets and scratches at this point. He's been with his foster mom for about a month and has not made very much progress in this department, so we would like to see him adopted into a home where he can bond with another dog. We feel he deserves to feel safe and comfortable---and we can see how much interaction with other dogs brings out the best in him. He has a great smile on his face when he's with other dogs. He seems to love them all---big or small!
Frank will be ready for his new home after he is neutered on 7/16.
