Callie has been with a foster since August 2025, she came from a hoarding situation where she had minimal human interaction and spent no time indoors. She is becoming a delightful little dog with good manners, she is smart and picks things up quickly. Callie loves other dogs, once she warms up to them she is very playful. She LOVES cats and is very gentle with them.
Callie has made so much progress but she is still nervous with new experiences and if something scares her she reverts to her past life and will take flight if possible. If she cannot flee, she will freeze, but has never growled or acted like she would bite.
Callie needs a very specific human in her life, someone quiet and consistent that can take the time to gain her trust and keep showing her that the world is not so scary.
February 2026 Update from Foster Mom
"In our time together, Callie has learned to appreciate comfortable beds, steady meals, chew toys, and playtime with other dogs. Through lots of hard work and bravery, she has learned that humans aren’t so scary and usually have treats for her. We practiced her recall daily on a long leash."
